What the markstands for.

A country mark is a promise about how a thing was made. New Zealand Story names four characteristics a licensed brand is asked to carry. This is what each one is worth on this bottle.

The bottle is screen-printed directly and made from sugarcane-based and recycled plastic. It is built to be refilled rather than replaced.

Biorius, in Belgium, audited each formula ingredient by ingredient. The natural content is published to the decimal, and every size carries its own figure.

At the heart of every wash is Vinanza® Kiwi, an antioxidant extract from New Zealand green kiwifruit. Grown, not synthesised.

The kiwifruit.

The kiwifruit grows in New Zealand orchards. Its skins go to the top of the South Island, where fifty kilos of skin make one kilo of extract, drawn out with water and nothing else. That extract is in every wash we sell.

Made in.

New Zealand. At Pauling Industries in Hillcrest the formula is mixed, the bottle is filled and the artwork is screen-printed onto it, all under one roof. The fragrance comes from France, and we say so rather than hiding it inside the word parfum.

Designed in.

Designed in New Zealand by Apex Brands. One bottle shape for every scent, one flat colour for each, with type screen-printed straight onto the bottle. Built to stay on the counter for years, which is the one part of this no certificate can tell you.

The FernMark is New Zealand’s official mark of origin, run by New Zealand Story for the Government. It licenses three claims and no others: made in, grown in, designed in. Licence 100709 lists every Only Good product as made in and designed in New Zealand. The number is on the pack and the register is public.

Everything on this site was shot in a studio in Auckland with the bottles that ship. The ice is real ice, frozen around sage leaves and lime by hand. The coconut was opened on the day. Somebody stood there with a water spray to get the beading right.
